First impressions last for a long time. One of my first impressions with the united church was its openness to explore new ways of nurturing faith. I went to a Healing Pathway meeting that a local united church in Vancouver offered. I remember being in the sanctuary filled with lots of love and care that I had not experienced before. Healing Pathway is an energy-based approach to healing, working for balance and wholeness. As an incorporated ministry of the United Church of Canada, today over 100 congregations have Healing Pathway ministries across Canada. While I was hoping to introduce this particular ministry to Fort Garry United Church, I had a request. Kimiko Karpoff, a practitioner and diaconal minister was looking for a space in Winnipeg where she could offer a Healing Pathway workshop in spring. What a blessing! It was one of the moments that I was found by what I was looking for. Indeed, I found that there is a shared vision and passion among us around healing ministry in the united church and beyond. So, please mark your calendar – a Healing Pathway workshop, March 15 – 17 (Fri. – Sun.) at Fort Garry United Church. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I am looking for volunteers who can provide hospitality with light refreshments. I am also looking for at least two massage tables that I can borrow for the workshop. Stay tuned for updates.
