FORT GARRY QUILTERS – QUILT MADE FOR FGUC 60th Anniversary!
Fort Garry Quilters was formed in 1981 by Nell Ralston, Wilma Harrison and Vivian Cameron as a fund raiser for the church’s 60th anniversary.
For a fee of $1.00 members could have their name embroidered on a block of fabric.
These blocks were made into a quilt designed by Vivian Cameron.
The quilt was presented to Rev. Don Frame who was the minister at the time.
Gale Frame replied and here is the quilt! And her comments!
Hi. I was interested to hear the history of the quilters.
I have the original quilt given to Don Frame and while it has been washed a few times it is still in excellent condition.
It is a piece of nostalgia for many I expect.
I know I have kept it for that reason. I spread it out and tried to take a photo of it - it is quite large.
