Whistle
Years ago when I was ten, my brother taught me how to whistle with my fingers. This has been put to good use periodically over the years. Once I was standing in our crowded Upper Hall beside a lady who had been asked to officially open our Spring Tea. She was ready to speak and looking resplendent in her long dress and fur piece. The room was very crowded and everyone was chatting, when I noticed our Minister Don Frame trying to quiet the crowd. He finally came over and asked me to please whistle so that he could get everyone’s attention. Whereupon I gave my very best shrill whistle and our tea-opener went “straight up“!!
This questionable talent has proven quite useful from time to time but unfortunately has an unsettling effect on any unsuspecting close bystander, as well as giving a lack of dignity to the event.
However, despite this, my services are available if needed.
